Project Value:Approximately 8 billion yuan (total for both bid sections)

[Project Background] The Talcher Fertilizers Limited project in India is a large-scale coal-to-fertilizer project jointly invested and constructed by state-owned enterprises such as Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited. Utilizing India's abundant low-rank coal as raw material, it produces synthetic ammonia and urea, aiming to enhance India's self-sufficiency in fertilizers. This project is the world's largest coal-to-fertilizer project.

[Role of Chinese Enterprises] China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. officially won the bid for the coal gasification and purification section on September 17, 2019, and subsequently won the bid for the synthetic ammonia and urea section on September 19, 2019. The total contract value of these two sections amounts to approximately 80 billion Chinese yuan. This marks the first time a Chinese chemical engineering enterprise has undertaken a coal chemical EPC project of such scale in India.

[Scope of Services] L4 EPC turnkey contract, covering the entire process of engineering design, equipment procurement, and construction for the coal gasification and purification system as well as the synthetic ammonia/urea production system, utilizing China's independently developed coal gasification technology.

[Significance] As the world's largest coal-to-fertilizer project, it represents the first large-scale export of China's coal chemical technology and engineering capabilities to India. The 80 billion yuan contract sets a record for a single project undertaken by a Chinese chemical engineering enterprise in India.

What are the differences in compliance requirements between chemical engineering projects in the Middle East and those in Southeast Asia?
Compliance requirements for chemical engineering projects in the Middle East and Southeast Asia vary significantly due to differences in regional policies, industrial foundations, and social environments. Key focus areas include environmental standards, safety certifications, and localization requirements, tailored to the industrial positioning and governance characteristics of each region.
For large-scale integrated refining and petrochemical projects, what specialized technical capabilities and project experience should suppliers possess?
In view of the scale, integration, and intensification characteristics of large petrochemical integrated projects, suppliers are required to possess full-process petrochemical integration capabilities, large-scale chemical engineering EPC general contracting expertise, and specialized technical capabilities for cross-border compliance implementation.
How to choose the right chemical engineering service provider?
Selecting a chemical engineering service provider requires a comprehensive multi-dimensional evaluation based on project type, scale, and implementation scenario, covering qualification standards, technical capabilities, and service systems. Priority should be given to verifying the provider's strength through resources of the Silk Road Chemical Engineering Service Platform, with particular focus on confirming successful project achievements in energy and chemical engineering to validate their actual delivery capability.
